Composite Materials
Composite materials, such as CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced
Polymer) can be used in body and chassis parts to lower
weight without compromising strength and rigidity. Currently,
the use of composite materials in the automotive industry is
mostly reserved for sport and supercars. This is due to the
high production cost. However, as manufacturing techniques
improve, prices for composite materials continue to drop. So it
is possible that in the future we will witness the use of CFRP in
mass produced cars.
